Story:
My
wife and I were just pondering if Woodland Friends still existed so
I did a search and hit your web site first time. A step up from those
old days of the early 1990's when we were both clients!
Together now for 14 years and married 7 years ago we still reflect on
how awful life was before encountering Woodland Friends. You provide
an essential and unique social service, making people happy. Long may
you continue. There is no alternative for singles with traditional countryside
values and who are individuals.
Best wishes,
R&B

Story:
Just wanted to let you know that, even though I was
quite sceptical and everyone that contacted me lived
in the outer Hebrides..." Joe - 40" and I have been madly
in love for the last 2 months, we see each other as often as possible,
and I never thought it could happen, but it has. Thank you.... and of
course I have spread the word, even in our local AGA shop, you are hot
news..... !!!

of animals which include, 2 ponies, a cat, duck, rabbit, guinea pig

Success story:
Dear Polly,
I’m sending this email to let you know about another success story
in JWF.
Mark from Lancashire and myself, Sally from Scotland, met through JWF
3 years ago. Since then I have moved to Lancashire to be with Mark and
work with horses, we have bought our own house which we are doing up
together. Earlier this year we had a baby who is an absolute delight!
Thank you for your agency, if it had not been we would not have met
and non of this would have happened.
Thank you.
Success Story:
A lady gamekeeper from Hampshire, met a tractor driver from Shropshire
after joining JWF. At 200 miles apart they would never have met any
other way! They met two years ago and are now happily Married with a
baby daughter.
.
Success Story
‘Hi Polly really pleased to ask you to put my
profile on hold. I phoned Shawn from Surrey as it was his birthday,
we met 2 days later, had a picnic and a stroll 2 days after that, then
came home and met the family the following weekend. All the dogs get
on really well and it is quite a sight, 7 Springers out for a walk!
It has definitely been an added bonus that we have interests in common.
I have contacted the gentleman that have taken the time to contact me
and explained the situation, as you say in your information ‘be
honest’. So many thanks Polly and we will keep you updated’.
.
Success story.
Diana, a lady in her late sixties decided to join YAF.
I did warn her of the difficulties facing people who join in this age
group. That is; plenty of ladies and very few men. However I just happened
to have a 70 year old gentleman on the books, David a semi retired farmer.
I have just received a letter from them saying how they met last February
and married in April 06.
Success story:
Kim joined JWF in Sept 2003 and met up with Colin
Soon after. They were on hold in Nov 03 and have recently written to
say they were married at the end of Nov 05! Kim says she enjoyed her
membership of JWF, meeting different like minded people and felt comfortable
with the way JWF works. Kim has asked me to pass on a message to you
all:
‘Don’t give up, keep trying, there is someone for you out
there! Best of luck to all of you.’
Kim and Colin were married in Sri Lanca, they still can’t believe
they have met each other and treasure each day.
Success Stories:
Ron from Cleveland met up with Tina from Co Durham early
in 2005. He was sure she was the one for him and after a little while
Tina was sure it was ‘right’ too. Ron has a farm and enjoys
shooting, walking and breeding ornamental fowl, Tina loves farming and
country life, enjoys walking and country sports, has small show animals
and is looking forward to having her own horse again. Tina has now moved
in with Ron.
Success Story:
Andy & Nicola from East Anglia are engaged to marry.
They are both working part time in the UK and part time in America.
They have a farm in Norfolk and an apartment over looking the beach
in Florida. Both are keen on country life, Andy keeps and fly’s
falcons, Nicola has her horses. Andy proposed to Nicola under the largest
Christmas tree in the world in Manhattan, New York, she accepted! A
true fairytale romance!!
Success story:
Celia and Ian's story:
Looking back it really does seem as though fate was intervening to get
us together. The year before we met, after much soul searching, I had
turned down a job in the midlands that would literally have meant Ian
& I would have been neighbours. One of my friends met her partner
at University and he knew Ian and Ian had been to a party that I should
have gone to but had changed my plans at the last minute.…. And
then we both joined JWF at the same time and through this we finally
met!! Ironically Ian's family name used to be our family name but the
name died out when my Grandmother didn’t have a son to carry the
name on so in the future, if someone looks at my genealogy they’re
going to be really confused, just another little coincidence!
Ian and Celia not thwarted by fates efforts are now happily married
with a baby.
Success Story:
Mark and karen’s story:
They had been living only 22 miles apart, not knowing of each others
existence. On many occasions they had been less than ½ a mile
from one another and indeed attended the same events. They both joined
JWF and met for the first time on July 11th 3 years ago. They were married
on the 11 June 2005 both had been married before and have 5 children
between them.
Family Success!
Jim’s daughter joined JWF and met her husband.
Two years after the death of her Mother she and the family persuaded
her Father, Jim to join JWF. Jim has also now asked to be ‘on
hold’ with a lady from Wiltshire, who’s sister also joined
and met someone. Jim’s cousin has joined up now too!!
Success Story:
You might think it would be impossible for a man who
is running a hectic country sports business up in Scotland to find the
time to meet up with and begin a new relationship with a country loving,
country sporting lady who lives in the midlands.
Not true! The man travelled down to meet the lady, they then spent the
weekend together, followed the local hunt one day and clay shooting
the next. Looking good so far!!

Hi Polly,
I
am really pleased with the volume of 'good quality chaps' on the list.....I
thought 'at last I may actually find someone I have something
in common with here'......
Let you know how it goes!
Ann
Hi Polly,
I
wonder if you could do me a small favour and remove my
home telephone number from my profile please. Would it also
be possible to add “text messages welcome” to my profile
please. To say I’ve been swamped with email, text messages and
phone calls since I re-joined is something of an understatement, and
it’s got to the stage where I’m not answering my home phone
in case I end up in another 2 hour conversation and burn my dinner (happened
twice in the last fortnight).
Mind you, I’m not complaining. I’m having more fun than
I’ve had in ages. I’ve already met 4 members (nothing lasting
though) and they were all charming delightful ladies. I meet number
5 tomorrow night, and I’m still having a regular exchange of email
and texts with a further 3.
Hope you can help, and thanks for everything so far.
Best wishes, Mick
Dear Polly
You may remember I was a subscriber to JWF a year ago and in February
last year I met "Rick from Surrey"!! We fell in love, moved
in and now we have a lovely property with land for the horses and are
blissfully happy, another JWF success story...
Don't buy a hat just yet - but I will keep you informed.. Emily
Hello Polly
Just found your site, I met Jan through your service and we were married
in December 2000.
I now ride and enjoy my life with Jan. We have two horses and three
dogs Jan Hunts and I manage to go stalking about 6 times a year.
I previously went out with another lady from JWF who also met someone,
they married as well I believe. I know she went to Avon to be with him.
So that’s two success's I know of.
We live in Hampshire and plan to move into another house very soon.
If you are ever up this way Email me and we will take you for dinner.
A "Thank you" does not seem to say enough for what you have
done for us but I’m sure you will understand.
THANK
YOU VERY MUCH !
Best wishes Midge & Sprout!
Dear Polly,
Thank you very much for sorting out my membership
I have been able to thoroughly recommend your service to a few people
I know, so hope they've got the sense to contact you.. there may be
very few men down our way, but at least the people with whom you come
in contact have similar interests.
Thanks again. Cath.
Dear Polly,
I was wondering if I might possibly go on hold? I know I've only been
a member for just over a month, but it seems to have been effective!
I've met a very lovely young lady, who I know you spoke to yesterday.
So thank you very much for an excellent service!
Best wishes Allan
Dear Polly,
We joined JWF 01/02 and found each other, James was a widower from Glos
and me a divorcee from Somerset. we had both given up hope of finding
a partner, met in March 02 and married in June this year.
Polly we are everything to each other and so happy
Thanks Karen
Hi Polly
Can I go on hold for next month - things have been a bit hectic
since joining JWF!!! I've spoken to tons of people! It's practically
taken over my life the last few weeks!!!
I don't know - I don't get a sniff of a bloke for months on end and
then I've got all this lot contacting me within the first week of being
a member!!! Phew!!!
Have just made a start at meeting up with one person - will see how
it goes ....
Best wishes Marion.
Dear Polly
Just a quick note to say thanks for the great service you provide. My
membership lasted for 3 months and I've met and spoken to some great
people.
Not sure if I've met Mr Right yet but I've enjoyed meeting and had some
fun with Mr Right Now!!
Thanks again, Sharon.
Hi Polly,
Just a short note to say we recently celebrated our first anniversary
& it just gets better every week!!!! We have now started our "Family",
he's called Hendrix & is an 11 week old Border Terrier!
We still find it amazing how we met through your service & have
recommended several people to join.
All the best
Richard & Jackie
Dear Polly,
We are getting on really well, Polly, and I just want to say thank you
for creating the vision called JWF for bringing Emily and I together.
Best Wishes Jem.
Dear Polly,
Wow! What a great service you offer. I’ve already had a date with
an interesting, charming gent. Next date tomorrow, exciting! Fingers
crossed!
Yours sincerely
Carry.
Hi Polly,
Exciting news! I joined Just Woodland Friends about this
time last year but got a bit edgy about the whole thing but Martin wrote
to me and I thought he sounded very nice. I re-joined a few months ago
and wrote back to him. Anyway, we have been going out ever since and
I am over the moon about the whole thing. I joined because I potter
along quite well by myself but just never really come across that many
chaps. Although it can feel a little uncomfortable meeting in this way,
it has made everything so much simpler - you know so much more about
them before you meet and that you will have so many things in common.
If this is the way to go about meeting the man of your dreams then I
could not recommend it more highly. I will let you know how things progress
but for now it couldn't be more perfect.
Thanks so much
Cindy
